PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Framed

This is the best I could come up with, a digitally framed photo of Taco and Bella:

I used to think that Taco was a big cat, but then Bella moved in and took over the food bowl, now she’s positively gigantic.  I guess after being on the streets and going hungry a lot she’s real careful now about not missing a meal.

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Orange

Since ORANGE is not one of my favorite colors, we really couldn’t find any orange stuff in the house.  But outside we have a few pots of nasturtiums growing in various shades of red, orange and yellow.  This prompted a cat and nasturtium photoshoot, and this is what we came up with:

And here’s an older photo of Bella back when I borrowed the tiger lily from the Wicked Witch:

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Colorful

Here is Taco wrapped up in some colorful wrapping paper.  The boys were wrapping presents for my daughter Nicole’s baby shower (did they use birthday paper??) and of course they thought it would be fun to give Taco a colorful paper cape to walk around in.  Taco thought it was great fun (the whole world is his playground) especially since he got to shred the paper when he was done posing!

PostHeaderIcon PhotoHunt Saturday: Public

I couldn’t find anything “cat” relating to “public”, so I decided to tell you about what I’ve been doing all last week at the PUBLIC skating rink that I skate at.  We had a four-day competition, and here are a few photos of this very public event:

You meet some VERY interesting people at these competitions, here is one of the speed skaters from PA out in the parking lot.  As you can see he is very talented! I can’t even get on a darn unicycle or juggle ONE ball, and here he is riding and juggling at the same time:razz:

It was a lot of fun but, a little stressful, and very tiring!

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Hanging

Bella doesn’t really like to be held, except occasionally when she is in the mood, but she didn’t seem to mind hanging in a towel like this, in fact she seemed to enjoy it!

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Triangle

Cat ears are triangles! Here is a Taco ear:

Sumari has little baby triangle ears: And Bella has huge triangle ears: And Mango seems to have the pointiest ears:

Mango also seems to have a rather pointy triangular face too:

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Free

This was a rather tricky subject, after all, is anything “free” these days?  Not too much, but there are some things that are free, and have always been free, such as SMILES.  Yup, it doesn’t cost a thing to crack a great big, happy smile.  And around here there are a few things that still can make me smile in amusement, happiness and gratitude.  One, of course, is my kids, who all seem to have the wackiest sense of humor.  And the other is the cats, who are endlessly amusing and you can bet they have a sense of humor too!

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Open

This is how the back door looks every morning after Noah leaves for work:

"Open the door mommy, NOW MEOW MEOW MEOW GRRR

"Open the door mommy, NOW MEOW MEOW MEOW GRRR

They all know they’re not allowed outside until after he leaves, so sometimes it gets a little crowded…and noisy…

“OPEN THE DOOR” in various tones of MEOW.

And this is how it looks until 7 PM on most days…well days that are warm enough to leave the door open:

"Thank-you"

"Thank-you"

Yes, it’s not particularly safe to let the cats outside, but I’ve given up fighting it.  They were all born in the great outdoors and they insist on being let out and they will find a way.  They are incredibly persistent. And fast, devious, sly, and smarter than the average bear.  So it’s an “open-door” policy now.  Yay.  The flies love it too.

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Purple

Purple is one of my favorite colors!  We have lots of purple flowers, here’s Taco posing with some of them:

Playing with the photoscape software here, this is called “lens flare”

The orange and yellow flowers on the left are nasturtiums, we always plant a lot of them because they are edible and are so beautiful in salads.  They taste somewhat like radishes.

Here are some pretty pansies.

Let’s see, what do I have six of?

Hmmmm…I have SIX sons!

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Bubble

I can’t believe I got these photos!  OK, I was up on the porch holding the soap solution  with one hand and holding the camera with the other while blowing bubbles and taking pictures.  This is what I got:

PostHeaderIcon Photohunt Saturday: Sparkle

Hmmm…sparkly collars for Princess Sumari, which one to choose?

This one fits! It’s beautiful and it sparkles, what do you think?

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Monthly

I guess It’s about time for me to figure out exactly how much money I spend monthly feeding all four cats.

First is Slanker’s Raw Real Pet Food, 1 1/2 pounds per week at about $4 per pound (includes shipping) multiplied by 4.3 (4.3 weeks in a month) is….

$25.80

2 bags ZiwiPeak Raw Grain Free Freeze Dried at $14 each (including shipping)

$28.00

2 bags Only Natural Raw Freeze Dried Chicken and Veggies Patties at $13 each

$26.00

And one  5pound bag of Taste of The Wild Grain-Free Cat Food at $11 a bag

$11.00

Grand Total $90.80 monthly for  food for four cats!

AAaargh!! No wonder there’s not much left over for feeding humans…

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Half

Sumari is HALF the size of Bella!

Here is Sumari, the Itty Bitty Kitty:

She weighs about 6 1/2 pounds:

And here is Bella:

I thought Bella would weigh about 15 lbs at least (she’s HUGE) but she weighs 13 lbs:

Yes, I enticed the cats with ‘nip and treats!

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Mom

Well, since I am the mother of seven awesome kids, I thought I’d post a photo of our family.  This was taken five years ago, and everybody has changed and grown up a lot, but it’s one of the only photos of all of us together.  My beautiful daughter (on the far left) is soon to be a mom herself, and the photo on the mantel is of my mother, born in 1914 and passed away in 1986.

There are a few extra family members in this photo, my daughter’s boyfriend (who is now her husband) and a dear friend of our family.  I guess I shouldn’t give their names because nobody has given me permission to even post their pic.  Of course no family photo would be complete without Taco!  Mango was most likely hiding.

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Black

Bella has black fur on the bottoms of her paws, here are her back paws:

And the front paws:

She is not happy about me holding her gigantic paws up for picture taking!

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Addiction

I think just about everybody has something that they are addicted to.

Taco is crazy for catnip:

Bella likes her ‘nip, but she can’t resist running water:

Mango loves ME, but I can’t say that it’s an addiction! Sumari is addicted to bugs, she just can’t pass one up.

And my addiction is most definitely skating!

Here is Mango playing hide-and-seek with Bella, he thinks he’s COVERED but doesn’t realize that his whole rear end including his plume of a tail is exposed!

PostHeaderIcon Photo Hunt Saturday: Sweet…Two Days Late!

Here is Saturday’s Photo Hunt Post which I could not post because of server problems:

A few weeks ago I was shopping in a new part of Manchester, CT and I can’t believe what I found-an ORGANIC CHOCOLATE shop!  Two of my favorite words!  All the chocolates are home-made with the most fantastic wholesome organic ingredients! Here is a photo of the header on their website, which is also the photo they use for their label:  Notice the two little kitties ?

Here is the chocolate that I got from Divine Treasures on Thursday (it is sweet, but not disgustingly sweet like regular chocolate):

Yeah…it’s all gone…today being Monday and all…

You can go to the DIvine Treasures website to order too, it’s expensive but sooo worth it!
