Photohunt Saturday: Foreign
This is a tough one! I actually had to go to an online dictionary to find a definition for foreign that I could work with, and I came up with: Not natural; alien
OK, so here is my take on the subject: I like everything to be in it’s proper place, nicely decorated and harmonious. So I really do prefer living room furniture and accessories in my living room. Therefore, car parts, tools, greasy rags, greasy old car parts, greasy tools, and, did I mention CAR PARTS are FOREIGN OBJECTS in my living room. Definitely alien to my decor. Not at all natural to my living space.
Unlike me, Taco LOVES foreign objects, he immediately claims them as his own:
This cat can sleep on anything!![]()
You may be curious about why these foreign objects appear in my living room (me too). My most awesome and amazing (one of many) 19 year-old son is going to school to be an auto technician, and he does quite a few repairs out in the driveway (this drives the wicked witch into severe fits of agitation) and inevitably the car stuff gets tossed in the living room for a few hours days weeks. On the bright side, I get car repairs done for cheap…so I try to be patient…grease and all…*sigh*
Photo Hunt: Broken
This is easy! I have cats!
CRIME SCENE NUMBER 1: The case of the Broken Spice Jar location: kitchen time:Feb.7,2010 between 7 AM and noon, the evidence:
CRIME SCENE NUMBER 2: The case of Who Has Broken Into The Catnip? location: kitchen (everywhere) time: Feb3-4 11PM to midnight, the scene:
THE SUSPECTS:
My guess is on the grey one for both incidents, but he’ll never admit guilt and the others are keeping mum. Especially in the catnip incident in which they all took part in the spoils.
Photo Hunt: Average
A Tale of Tails, or more aptly, a Tale of the Average Length of the Tails.
The teensiest little Cat Tail is owned by Sumari, the Itty Bitty Kitty:
The Sumari Tail is 24 cm in length. It also flicks incessantly, so who knows how accurate this measurement is.
The next smallest tail is the Mango Tail:
This Tail is 26 cm in length, and quite fluffy, so fluffy in fact that the last few cm are absolute fluff. Next up is the Great Grey Tail at 27 cm, belonging to the Famous Taco Cat :
And finally, the tail of Queen Bella herself a whooping 32 cm:
24+26+27+32=109 cm of tail! Divided by 4, equals 27.25 the AVERAGE tail length of our four fabulous felines!
Photo Hunt: Balanced
All of our photos relating to cats being balanced are of Sumari. This is because little kitten-sized Sumari is a natural acrobat. Here, she has just walked up the railing to the second floor porch, instead of using the stairs.
Here she is balanced on the third floor roof!
She seems to like balancing on the narrow dowels of the clothes-drying rack
Sumari balanced for a treat!
Photo Hunt: Jiggly
Taco has a jiggly “pudge-pouch” that really wiggles and jiggles when he runs,
Here is a close-up:
Mango has a smaller, less jiggly pudge-pouch:
Bella’s pudge-pouch is even smaller and hardly jiggles at all:
And little Sumari has the teensiest, tiniest little baby pudge-pouch, that only jiggles when she has a wild and crazy bath-taking session:
Photo Hunt: Lick
Taco sometimes likes to lick Sumari, especially when he’s in a super-lovable mood.
I think Taco must have been getting into the catnip because I have never before seen him lick Mango, but there you have it…a happy, lovable, licking frenzy the likes of which have never before been seen.
What are the odds of him barfing up a big orange furball?
Photo Hunt Saturday: Fast
I looked and looked but could not find any photos of cats doing anything even remotely fast. So I am posting photos of me going fast. At least it feels like I’m going fast, but my coach is always telling me to skate even faster. Here is a spiral:
And a spin which is a little blurry (because I’m spinning fast!)
Photo Hunt Saturday: Undesirable
Cats, as much as we all adore them, have some rather UNDESIRABLE habits. Here is Taco’s favorite:

Looks content, doesn’t he? Of course we can remove him from the table 100 times, and he’ll happily return as soon as nobody’s looking. Sometimes even when we are looking. Just for the fun of it. No, squirting him with water doesn’t help, he loves water.
Mango has an undesirable habit of napping on the clothes that I set out to wear. Being very organized, I set my clothes out a few hours before I’m due to leave. Mango does a great job of warming them up for me. Unfortunately he also does a great job of sharing his mounds of poofy orange fur.
Photo Hunt Saturday: Curved
There are so many curved things in this photo, I don’t even know where to start!
Sumari is curved, so she can fit on her newest Favorite Spot, the curved toilet seat!
Look at all the curved branches in this Cat Tree photo that Seth made a few years ago:
And here is Mango and his gorgeous plume of a tail, it is curved to tell us that he is happy!
Photo Hunt Saturday: Technology
Technology also gives us something to sit on while we are overseeing our domain:
AND technology gives us a background to display our gorgeous furriness:
Technology also allows us to take photos of our cat-cousins. Here is cousin Ricky. A Veterinarian once used medical technology to fix Ricky’s boo boo ear. Too bad they can’t make his ear grow back!
PhotoHunt Saturday: Bird(s)
This is an ORIGAMI bird, made from a $10 bill:

It’s actually a peacock, but you may make-believe that it’s a TURKEY. Sorry the colors are weird but I have to use my phone to take photos these days. I dropped my camera and now it only takes blurrs instead of pictures. Here’s a photo of Taco and money-bird:
He looks annoyed because I turned on the light and disturbed his beauty sleep. And here is a photo of Mango with the same “leave me alone turn out the light” look:
Photohunt Saturday: Music
Have you ever played a harmonica for your cat? ![]()
Taco and Sumari both love harmonica MUSIC! They get all loveable and goofy when we play it, it’s almost like musical catnip! Here’s Sumari getting all silly over Seth playing the harmonica:
Here’s Taco purring wildly over my terrible harmonica playing. It doesn’t matter what we play, it just seems to be the sound of the harmonica that makes them silly.
Mango doesn’t even seem to notice, so I guess not all cats enjoy this type of music.
