This is the best I could come up with, a digitally framed photo of Taco and Bella:

I used to think that Taco was a big cat, but then Bella moved in and took over the food bowl, now she’s positively gigantic.  I guess after being on the streets and going hungry a lot she’s real careful now about not missing a meal.

Doesn’t she look happy and peaceful?

Plenty of food, lots of love and attention, and a soft place to nap…ah the life of a cat.

Since ORANGE is not one of my favorite colors, we really couldn’t find any orange stuff in the house.  But outside we have a few pots of nasturtiums growing in various shades of red, orange and yellow.  This prompted a cat and nasturtium photoshoot, and this is what we came up with:

Here is one of my daughter’s cats, Carrot, trying out this lovely new baby seat:

She’s getting ready for the important job of Seat Warmer which should be available by September 12th.  I think she’s also checking those toys for safety and durability.  What a cat!

Here is Taco wrapped up in some colorful wrapping paper.  The boys were wrapping presents for my daughter Nicole’s baby shower (did they use birthday paper??) and of course they thought it would be fun to give Taco a colorful paper cape to walk around in.  Taco thought it was great fun (the whole world is his playground) especially since he got to shred the paper when he was done posing!

Poor Ricky!  He kept getting infections on his ears (I think it was something hereditary) and he had to have one ear cropped, then a few years later they had to do the other.  He is fine now, and he is one big, fluffy boy with quite a bit of “catitude”.

Bella doesn’t really like to be held, except occasionally when she is in the mood, but she didn’t seem to mind hanging in a towel like this, in fact she seemed to enjoy it!

This is a cat who lives in our neighborhood.  I have no idea who owns this cat, but it’s been wandering around our house for the year-and-a-half that we’ve been living here.  At first, one eye was completely swollen shut but it has since healed and is not as bad.  He or she will not let us come at all close.

I borrowed a Tiger Lily from the Wicked Witch for this photo, good thing she doesn’t know.  At least Mango didn’t care.  Here he is all rolled up into a fluff ball on a plastic chair.  Taking a break from the kitchen table I see.

This was a rather tricky subject, after all, is anything “free” these days?  Not too much, but there are some things that are free, and have always been free, such as SMILES.  Yup, it doesn’t cost a thing to crack a great big, happy smile.  And around here there are a few things that still can make me smile in amusement, happiness and gratitude.  One, of course, is my kids, who all seem to have the wackiest sense of humor.  And the other is the cats, who are endlessly amusing and you can bet they have a sense of humor too!

Well at least I finally got a good photo of her and her adorable little fluffy tummy:

Sometimes we refer to Sumari as “the perfect cat”  because she is still the size of a kitten, never gets into trouble or barfs or destroys anything, eats very little and is incredibly cute and lovable.  This doesn’t mean we think any less of the other cats, we love them all and they are “perfect” in their own ways.
