Dwarf, Miniature and Teacup Cats

While trying to figure out why Sumari is such a small cat, we came across this site which has pictures of some unusual breeds of cats: Pictures of Cats

I really don’t like the idea of breeding cats when there are so many being killed every day because they have no homes, but this site has some interesting pictures.

Sumari is not a dwarf cat, she’s perfectly formed, but she only weighs about 5.5 lbs. I think she may be a Singapura because she really fits the description, but who knows for sure, it could be an endocrine disruption.

I’m not a big fan of breeding (I like the idea of preserving genetic lines, but there are just way too many cats and far to few homes out there) but I do appreciate petite cats. My Cajun is full grown and probably will peak at 6lbs for her ideal weight. My other two are in the 7-8lb ranges.

I don’t really care for the aesthetics of adult dwarf cats - dwarfed kittens are just about the cutest things ever, but they lose their kittenish appeal as they grow, and part of the appeal of cats to me is the graceful long lines of their bodies.

Although they are all cute, I have heard that many of these cats have health problems which makes me very sad

Sumari looks graceful. Everyone has a different height some by genetics some by malnutrition. Nature’s beauty need to be appreciated.

If cupid had a wish list of things to give out on Valentine’s Day, teddy bears would certainly be amongst the top five. There is so much to love about a bear and very little to hate. They?re cute, they?re soft and they feel warm against the skin. They are the perfect gift to give on Valentine’s Day .
